Objective

Materials

Mini-lesson — Looking back at your reading year

A review is a time to look back and notice how much you have learned.

This year in reading, you worked on many skills:

  • hearing and reading sounds and words
  • understanding stories with characters and settings
  • learning from informational texts, maps, and charts
  • doing reading projects like logs, covers, and book talks

When you review, you can ask:

  • “What feels easier for me now?”
  • “What am I proud that I can do?”
  • “What is one thing I want to get even better at?”

Talking about your reading year helps you see your growth and get ready for the next level.
